What is Project Based Learning?
TechnoKids Computer Curriculum uses a project-based approach to
learning. Instead of students learning technology skills in isolation,
they learn them in the context of completing a project that is
personally meaningful.
Project-based learning allows each child
to select a topic based on their interests. However, everyone in the
class learns the same technology skills. This approach promotes
critical and creative thinking by using the computer as a problem
solving tool.
Why do you think TechnoKids Project Based Learning(PBL) is better than skill based learning?
We adapt the integrated system approach - the best of both worlds. We make the students not only knowledgeable in IT concepts, but also able to accomplish meaningful projects.
What make your curriculum and TechnoKids students stand out?
TechnoKids curriculum makes TechnoKids students able to solve real life problems using technology tools combined with holistic and critical thinking disciplines, i.e. students can make business plans, design website, program point-of-sale (POS) software for real stores, make family digital albums, produce animated movies, create advertising commercials, manage bsuiness resources, plan wedding or birthday parties, and more while learning the valuable concepts and theories in IT.
How do we assure the parents of their children's learning?
We give letters assuring parents of their children's newly acquired technology and life's skills at the end of the year aside from the accomplished projects that the students can show their parents. *** Parents can also check the activities and grades fo their children through Moodle.
What are the other curriculum references we can avail besides the textbook?
We have a collection of IT library references and software textbooks (courseware), activity books, and project books. We also have quick reference guides for students to have quick access to information they require to achieve a particular task in computer.
What is a Teacher Guide?
A teacher guide is the manual that
contains the instructions needed to complete a project. It is in PDF
format. A teacher guide is divided into sessions.
Each session
introduces a new “big idea” or problem solving task that directly
relates to the theme of the project. The session is then divided into
assignments which are small steps needed to complete the task.

computer to complete the assignment. In addition, there are worksheets
with fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and multiple choice questions, as
well as self-evaluation checklists, planning sheets, and information

Student workbooks are
designed so that students can work independently to complete lesson
